While it is true that many people take a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Course (YTTC) to become Yoga Teachers, such training is not limited to only becoming a Yoga Teacher.
My personal opinion is that a YTT is the OG (original) personal development course developed well over 5000 years ago. I have been witness to hundreds of people that have not become teachers but have changed their lives. I remember when I signed up for my TT and they added me to the Facebook Group, the lead instructor said:
“Right now it is life before Teacher Training and soon enough, it will be life after Teacher Training.”
I literally chuckled under my breath, how dramatic. On the last day, I repeated it back to the class, I was just graduating and my life had already shifted. What she said was true and I witness it regularly.
YTTC's offer its participants the opportunity to set aside dedicated time for themselves, for them to think, practice, have peace and quiet, or just a get away from the busy life. And what better way to do that than to do that in another country? Like India, Greece, or Spain? You attend a class you get out of it what your teachers teach, that means, what you learn is limited and Yoga Teacher Training expands your awareness far beyond what you can learn in a 60-90 minute physical asana class. Yoga is Sanskrit for “to yoke”, related to joining or union, which has been translated in many ways and relates to the idea that Yoga brings you back to divine consciousnes.
Yoga expands your awareness, your perceptions and invites you to see life as it truly is.
In a Western sense, YTT offers you not only proper alignment of poses (which is not always taught in class), but also, yet not limited to, philosophy, spirituality, history, the body & mind, and most importantly the self.
Yoga is the journey of the self through the self to the self - The Bhagavad Gita.

Alpha Yoga School offers an amazing Yoga Teacher Training that combines the physical practices of Vinyasa and Ashtanga and focuses on the lessons taught by these physical practices that move beyond the body and offer deeper insight into the mind.
How you do anything is how you do everything and this relates to discipline, routine, consistency and so much more.
